Headache and screens
Share
Many people nowadays suffer from headaches after hours spent in front of the screen.
Today's electronic devices, including PCs, emit dangerous amounts of blue light.
This blue light is very harmful to our eyes and our health.
Humans were never exposed to blue light in the evening until a few decades ago.
Only modern lifestyle "forces" us to be exposed for a long time to the blue light emitted by screens.
What does this mean for our health?
The president of the Italian Society of Ophthalmology (Soi), in 2022 stated that several eye diseases will triple by 2025.
The reason?
According to the president of Soi Matteo Piovella, one of the main causes is the greater stress to which the eye is subjected through computer work.
In fact, many people spend their entire working day in front of a display.
In the evening, our eyes are then exposed to blue light from the artificial lighting in our homes, TVs and smartphones.
This can often cause headaches, as well as burning eyes.
Artificial lighting and electronic devices are new to our body, which is not used to looking at them, especially in the evening.
We have evolved for thousands of years without any light at night! (except combustion ones like fire)
From sunset onwards, the blue light was almost non-existent.
This is because the evening light spectrum is mainly composed of warm tones towards red and orange.
In the graph below, you can see the difference between the spectrum of light emitted by the sun at midday and in the evening.
To combat headaches caused by modern lifestyle, you need to simulate this scenario by shielding yourself from harmful evening blue light.
This way our eyes are protected and exposed only to the natural light spectrum after sunset.
The only solution to protect ourselves is to have lenses that filter out harmful light in the evening.
These lenses are those mounted on chronobiological glasses.
These filter out harmful blue light that shouldn't hit our eyes, preventing headaches, dryness and burning eyes.
Our No Blue Light Glasses are designed to “hack” light, so that only the natural light spectrum reaches our eyes and protect our health and that of our eyes.
